If the devil could destroy you
remove you from his way
a child of God who dwells on earth
he’d do it now today

frustrating things against God’s will
always lurking to prey
this destroyer hopes you will fail
to walk in God’s true way

because he knows of God’s power
given to righteous man
to apply the blood of Jesus
on hell’s most devilish plan

your power to bind the prince of fools
remains a spoken right
to loose the captives from his bonds
God’s will reflects His might

you take by force this strong man’s lair
it’s always on his mind
in angered hate for your demise
a scheme he plots to find

if you should die and go on home
your presence is no threat
of what Satan could do better
in taking more ground yet

as long as you are on the earth
your fight shall long prevail
as the Spirit goes before you
in Him you never fail
